 Hong Kong Team Finished Singles Events of ITTF Para Slovenia Open
Hong Kong Team finished singles events of ITTF Para Slovenia Open on 9 May. Men's Singles TT7 CHEN Silu advanced to the elimination round with a 2-3 loss to Germany's Jochen WOLLMERT and three straight 3-0 victories over Denmark's Rasmus Damkjeer HANSEN. He earned a 3-1 win over Slovakia's Miroslav JAMBOR in the round of 32 but lost 2-3 to Spain's Jordi MORALES in the round of 16. LEE Ming Yip suffered a 2-3 loss to Czech's Daniel HORUT and recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Korea's Chung Seok KIM at the pool stage matches. He entered the elimination round but lost 2-3 to Poland's Michal DEIGSLER in the round of 32. TONG Chi Ming failed to advance with a 1-2 win-loss record at the pool events. He won Czech's Kristian JELINEK 3-0 but lost 0-3 to Japan's Masachika INOUE and Croatia's Pavao JOZIC. TONG Chi Yung suffered 0-3 and 1-3 losses to Brazil's Paulo Sergio SALMIN FILHO and Sweden's Nicklas Thomas WESTERBERG at the pool stage. Men's Singles TT8 LAM Ka Wai lost 0-3 to Ukarine's Viktor DIDUKH and beat Italy's Samuel DE CHIARA 3-1 at the pool stage matches. He entered the elimination round but suffered a 2-3 loss to Belgium's Marc Philippe LEDOUX in the round of 32. Men's Singles TT9 WONG Chi Yin advanced to the elimination round with a 1-3 loss to Russia's Iurii NOZDRUNOV and a 3-1 success against Finland's Esa MIETTINEN. He eliminated Hungary's Dezso BERECZKI with a 3-1 win in the round of 16 but lost 0-3 to Great Britain's Joshua STACEY in the quarter-finals. Women's Singles TT5 WONG Pui Yi suffered 0-3, 2-3 and 1-3 losses against China's Jiamin PAN, Korea's Oejeong KANG and Serbia's Biljana UBOVIC at the pool stage.
