2019-2021 10th Executive Committee Meeting Summary

2019-2021 10th Executive Committee Meeting was held on 18 May 2021 and the major issues include:
 
Para Sports Coaching Manual Development Task Force
The Executive Committee endorsed the members of the Para Sports Coaching Manual Development Task Force.  The Task Force will be responsible for the review and development of the coaching manual of the 11 sports governed by the Association by the end of 2022 and the members are:

Establishment of Hong Kong Paralympic Committee
At the 46th Annual General Meeting, members passed the motion of segregation of the Association into two independent organisations, namely Hong Kong Paralympic Committee (HKPC) and Hong Kong Sports Association for the Physically Disabled (HKSAPD).  The drafting of the Articles of both organisations are still in progress and the drafts will be submitted to Companies Registry for approval after completion.  The Association plans to call an Extraordinary General Meeting this year to discuss and endorse the revised Articles and the change of the Association’s name.  Meanwhile, the HKPC is expected to be established on 1 April 2022.
 
Survey on Physically Impaired Students in Primary and Secondary Schools
In line with the goals set out in Project 2026, the Association conducted a survey among 966 primary and secondary schools and have collected 285 replies.  According to the replies, there are a total of 101 students with impairments studying in 67 schools.  The Association will take the findings into account while formulating future Para sport development strategy and will organise young athletes recruitment training camp by the end of this year.
