2019-2021 11th Executive Committee Meeting Summary


2019-2021 11th Executive Committee Meeting was held on 20 July 2021 and the major issues include:

Feeder Training System Plan
In line with the goals set out in Project 2026,  the Association is drafting effective and sustainable novice athlete recruitment strategics.  The Association will establish direct partnerships with rehabilitation, medical and patient mutual aid organisations through strengthening connection with the management.  The Association will also explore the possibility of organising joint special school sport competitions and discuss co-operation opportunities with School Sports Programme Unit and Community Sports Section of Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
 
Classification Development Strategies Working Group
The Executive Committee approved the establishment of Classification Development Strategies Working Group with Dr. Chan Wing Nga, Chad as the chairman to assist in formulating future classification development strategies and action plans.
 
Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games
The Executive Committee endorsed the budget for Hong Kong Delegation’s participation to Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.  The estimated expenditure is approximately HKD7.24 million, including the spending on complying with the COVID-19 countermeasures and quarantine arrangements.  The Association has applied for Arts and Sport Development Fund and the maximum amount of subsidy will cover 90% of the total expenditure.
 
Boccia Regional Training Programme
Organised by the Association, the Programme was launched in June in six regions.   To provide competition opportunity to participants, Boccia Regional Cup is tentatively scheduled to be held in November.  The Association is also organising district introductory classes or training courses of different sports, including Para swimming, Judo for the visually impaired, Para badminton, wheelchair fencing, Para table tennis, Para lawn bowls and Para archery starting from July.  For enrollment or enquiries, please visit the Association’s website.
