CHOW Long Ho Clinched Sliver at IWAS Wheelchair Fencing U23 World Championships
IWAS Wheelchair Fencing U23 World Championships -Sao Paulo, Brazil was held on 17 to 22 October. CHOW Long Ho clinched a sliver in Epee Men's Individual Category A/B. Men’s Epee Individual Category A/B CHOW Long Ho advanced to elimination round with 4-1 win-loss record and enjoyed a bye in the round of 16. He eliminated France’s Enzo GIORGI and Germany’s Julius HAUPT 15-8 in the round of 8 and quarter-finals. However, he was defeated by another Germany’s player Felix SCHRADER 6-15 in the final and clinched a silver. GLASS Sean advanced with 2-3 win-loss record. He was then knocked out by Germany’s Clemens CURSIEFEN 4-15 in the round of 16 and ranked 9th. Men’s Sabre Individual Category A/B CHOW Long Ho made it to knockout round with 1-4 win-loss record. He lost to Germany’s Felix SCHRADER 11-15 in round of 8 and completed the event in 5th. GLASS Sean, with 1-4 win-loss record, entered into knockout round. He suffered from a narrow defeat of 13-15 to Brazil’s Elias OLIVEIRA and ranked 6th. Men’s Foil Individual Category A/B CHOW Long Ho advanced with 1-6 win-loss record and was beaten by Germany’s Julius HAUPT 13-15 in the round of 8 and ranked 8th. GLASS Sean advanced with 2-5 win-loss record. He was then knocked out by Brazil’s Kevin DAMASCENO 10-15 in the round of 8 and ranked 5th. Women’s Foil Individual Category A/B LAM Verna advanced to elimination round with 1-3 win-loss record and beat Brazil’s Paula LUBIANCA 15-14 in the round of 16. However, she lost to Turkey’s Elke Lale VAN ACHTERBERG 3-15 in the round of 8 and ranked 8th.
